Our Board
A Board was established by the members to ensure the company complies with Australian Corporations Act (2001) and that it achieves the Trust objects. The QMI Solutions Board of Directors includes:

David Harrison FAICD – Chairman, QMI Solutions
Thirty-three years experience in Industrial Relations including ten years as Queensland Secretary Australian Manufacturing Workers Union. Director of QMI since 2004. His other directorships include: Chairman - Australia TradeCoast, Chairman - Australian Institute of Commercialisation, Chairman - Industrial Supplies Office (Qld) Limited, Director - Brisbane Airport Corporation Group and QIC Limited..

Jim Walker, AM – CEO, QMI Solutions
CEO of QMI Solutions since 21 August 2006, Director since 31st October 2006. Member of the Order of Australia. Degrees in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science. Post Graduate degree in Engineering Technology and Information Systems. 25 years experience in engineering and manufacturing related sectors, primarily aerospace. Chairman of AMT Pty Ltd, Director Mater Medical Research Institute, Director CRC Integrated Asset Management. Director Aviation Australia Pty Ltd, Member of the Smart State Sub Council for Smarter Services and the Sparse State Working Group. Member AICD.

David Barbagello - CEO, Endeavour Foundation
The Endeavour Foundation is one of Australia’s largest not for profit organisations in the disability sector. David is also; Chairman and non-executive Director of Facet Pty Ltd and a Director of Orchidhouse Pty Ltd, a consultancy in strategic planning and performance management of companies, Director of Australian Institute for Commercialisation, Non-executive Director of Peak 3 Pty Ltd, and non-executive Director of Geogenx Pty Ltd. Previously, David was the Executive Vice President for Solutions Development and Innovation and Market Development, Mincom Ltd and the Chief Executive Officer of the Distributed Systems Technology Centre (DSTC Pty Ltd). He is a member of the AICD, Chairman of the ICT Advisory Group to the Treasurer and Minister for Employment and Economic Development, the Hon Andrew Fraser MP. David is also an Adjunct Professor in IT in the Faculty of Science and Technology at QUT and Chairman of the Future Forum in the Faculty.

Mark Bermingham - Deputy Director-General, DEEDI
Mark is currently the Deputy Director-General, Employment and Industry Development, Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation within the Queensland Government and has 38 years experience within the Queensland Government, the last 14 years in senior management positions. He holds a Bachelor of Business Management.

Christine Bridges-Taylor - General Manager, B&R Enclosures
Extensive experience in managing manufacturing entities. She holds a Masters of Business Administration, Bachelor of Engineering Electrical (1st Class Honours). Director and General Manager - B&R Enclosures Group, Completed the Owners/Presidents Management Executive education course at Harvard Business School, Boston MA, USA (2003). Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Director of QMI since 2004 and Chair of the Audit Risk Management Committee.

Andrew Dettmer – State Secretary, AMWU
State Secretary Australian Manufacturing Workers’ Union Qld/NT since 2003; Vice President Queensland Council of Unions; Member; Training & Employment Recognition Council: Chair; Manufacturing Skills Queensland; Member, Construction Skills Queensland; President, Australian Labor Party, Qld; BA (Hons).

Geoff Favell – Executive Director, Industry Development – Department Education and Training
Twenty five years in the Queensland public sector with senior roles across the Employment, Industrial Relations and Training Portfolios in metropolitan and regional centres. Geoff holds a Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management). Other directorships include: Deputy Chair, Mining Industry Skills Centre; Board member, Energy Skills Queensland Inc and Director, Construction Industry Skill Centre Ltd trading as the Construction Training Centre

Matthew Martyn-Jones - Queensland Director, AI Group
Prior to his appointment as Queensland Director, Australian Industry Group in 2010, Matthew was Press Secretary to Federal Treasurer Wayne Swan and also served as Press Secretary to former NSW Deputy Premier John Watkins. In his role as Queensland Director, Matthew works closely with numerous statutory and government bodies in his support for Queensland industry. He holds a BA (Communication) from Charles Sturt University where he graduated first in his year for broadcast journalism and won the Sonia Reece memorial award. He also holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Sydney where he graduated first in his class in Leadership, and Government and Business Ethics.

Patrick McKendry - CEO, Careers Australia 
Prior to commencing in his current role, Patrick had been an industry advocate in major policy issues such as vocational education and training and employment programs, labour market reform, trade practice and competition policy for various industry bodies. From 2006 to 2009, Patrick was Chairman of TVET Australia Pty Ltd which provides support services for the key stakeholders in Australia's VTE system. In 2006 the Commonwealth Government appointed Mr McKendry as Chairman of the National Quality Council (NQC). The NQC brings together industry, employee, government and practitioner representatives to oversee and support the current and future quality of vocational and technical education across Australia. Patrick's term as Chair of the NQC finished at the end of 2009. Patrick was also appointed as Director of the Workers' Compensation Regulatory Authority (Q-Comp) Board by the Queensland Government in 2006. He also serves as Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee for this Board.

Prof. Graham Schaffer BSc, MSc, PhD, FTSE
Head, School of Engineering, The University of Queensland, and Deputy Executive Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Physical Sciences and Architecture (until 31/12/2008). Executive Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology (from 1/1/2009). Currently the Chair of Mining Education Australian and board member of CRC Mining and Queensland Cyber Infrastructure Foundation. Member of the Australian Research Council College of Experts.

Prof. Arun Sharma PhD Computer Science, MSc (Tech) Computer Science
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Commercialisation) QUT. Director of Gallipoli Research Foundation, CRC for Smarter Services, Governing Board of CRC for Integrated Engineering for Asset Management, Director and Vice President of Sydney Research Lab of NICTA. Member of Qld Premiers Smart State Council, Independent Advisory Council of Australian Research Council, Manufacturing Centre of the Enterprise Connect Centre and President of Australia-India Business Council (Queensland Chapter). Director of QMI since 2004.

 

Easternwell would have struggled to grow without QMI Solutions’ ERP Selection process. We were missing opportunities and our manufacturing capabilities were being undermined by the lack of timely financial information.
