To assist Queensland companies take the first steps toward new technologies and practices, QMI Solutions in conjunction with the Queensland Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation (DEEDI), offers subsidies of up to 50% for eligible companies under QMI Solutions’ unique best practice support programs. This program was restructured to help more manufacturers maintain momentum for continuous improvement programs and achieve long-term gains and continue on ‘the journey to excellence’.
The program is designed to assist eligible companies, small to medium manufacturers or those in manufacturing-related industries, to engage a manufacturing specialist at a substantially reduced cost to help them adopt or investigate a new technology or process that will improve the effectiveness of the business.
There are two types of activities under the program:
Best Practice Support Activity (BPSA)
Typically up to two days with a consultant (100% subsidised) to assist in the investigation or planning for the implementation of a new technology or process.
Best Practice Support Project (BPSP)
Assistance for eligible companies to engage a manufacturing specialist for 2–25 days (50% subsidised) to help implement a new technology or process to improve the effectiveness of your business.
Eligible companies must have an operation based in Queensland and meet other relevant selection criteria.
The program is for those companies serious about initiating a more intensive continuous improvement program in the business. To be considered, candidates must have already completed a benchmark (freely available through DEEDI regional offices and QMI Solutions) or Enterprise Connect Business Review and can request up to 25 days work, attracting a 50% subsidy.
Program criteria:
- must have a Queensland-based operation
- must work in a manufacturing or manufacturing-related industry
- to be BPSP eligible, the company must have completed a recognised benchmark or diagnostic
- must submit an evaluation form at completion of project
The subsidy is awarded at the end of the project and at the completion and submission of a QMI evaluation form.
