The 2010 March Industry Skills Report is the third six-monthly report developed by Manufacturing Skills Queensland (MSQ) to the Department of Education and Training for the purpose of advising where investment in vocational education and training for the manufacturing sector should occur.

As Queensland’s industry and economic environment rapidly changes and the effects of the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) and the aging workforce increase the need for higher skills levels, the need for retaining skilled workers and increasing the opportunity for apprentices and traineeships is paramount. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) provide organisations with the opportunity to recognise their workers current competencies and identify the gaps in their skills and knowledge.
