This program was restructured to help more manufacturers maintain momentum for continuous improvement programs and achieve long-term gains and continue on 'the journey to excellence'.
The BPSP is designed to assist eligible companies, small to medium manufacturers or those in manufacturing related industries, to engage a manufacturing specialist at a substantially reduced cost to help them adopt or investigate a new technology or process that will improve the effectiveness of the business.
Eligible companies must have an operation based in Queensland and meet other relevant selection criteria.
BPSPs are for those companies serious about initiating a more intensive continuous improvement program in the business. To be considered, candidates must have already completed a Manufacturing Microscope (freely available through DTRDI regional offices and QMI Solutions) and can request up to 25 days work, attracting a 50% subsidy.
Program criteria
- must have a Queensland-based operation
- must work in a manufacturing or manufacturing related industry
- to be BPSP eligible, the company must have completed a Manufacturing Microscope
- must submit an evaluation form at completion of project
The subsidy is awarded at the end of the project and at the completion and submission of a QMI evaluation form.

What industry says about our subsidised activities:
Now that the up-front work of analysing our current inventory and putting the new system in place is complete, we are eager to track improvements over the coming months. Although the results are not in yet, we were impressed enough to commit to replicating the Inventory Optimisation Project in a second Ludowici business unit. Beyond that, we see QMI Solutions as a resource that we can use across all of Ludowici's operations in Brisbane as we start to consolidate business units and focus on supply chain management. Jim Cronin, Business Development Manager, Ludowici Seals

We are very impressed with the professionalism with which QMI Solutions have offered their broad range of programs and expertise. It is what keeps us going back to them in our quest to improve processes through virtually every aspect of our operation. John Martinkovic, CEO, Biolytix
|
Enlisting the help of QMI Solutions was an invaluable process, because we discovered that the cheapest and most effective option was to stay put. By implementing changes within our existing factory, at a capital investment of $300,000, we have avoided a $4 million outlay on the new factory. So we are $ 3.7 million ahead. Peter Wall, Director, Global Manufacturing Group

Easternwell would have struggled to grow without QMI Solutions' ERP Selection process. We were missing opportunities and our manufacturing capabilities were being undermined by the lack of timely financial information. Marco Waanders, General Manager – Corporate Commercial, Easternwell Group

From a management perspective, you always think your company is special, but best practice principles don't change. The QMI Solutions team has been there and done that. They picked up what we do quickly and were able to identify the issues and solutions. Sean Adams, General Manager, Cairns Steel Fabricators

Earlier in the year we had QMI conduct a benchmarking project, and following that a Value Stream Mapping project to unearth the areas in which we could improve. I found them to be first rate professionals who delivered comprehensive reports which enabled us to focus on a list of jobs. If you are considering their service, I can only say that we were delighted on all aspects. Michael Cooper, General Manager, Nucrush Group
